A good of example of a container city in the making is the BoxPark. Designed to be a “short term” shipping container shopping mall, this “container city” will be built using 60 shipping containers.
Conceived by Brands Incorporated and Roger Wade of Boxfresh in conjunction with real estate developers Hammerson and Ballymore, the “container city” or shipping container shopping mall is likely to be situated to the North of London between Spitalfields amd Shoreditch, at a previously unused 4.7 hectare location known as The Goodsyard.
The container city will largely feature pop-up and relocatable shops such as is found in shipping container shopping malls in Kyrgyzstan and Mexico
